four o'clocks near tomatoes

My Mom is 93 and still living at home. She has a flower garden adjacent to her patio but she is unable to water or weed anything due to her age. The last few years, I've been planting marigolds for her, thinking they are hard to kill, but they don't do well. It's a mostly shady area (some morning sun) and I'm thinking they don't get enough sunlight. Thought I would try four o'clocks but she has a cherry tomato plant nearby, like 5 feet away from the flower garden. Am I looking for trouble with hornworms in her cherry tomatoes?
