This is my first year growing anything had a disappointing garlic crop and pikl bugs destroyed my turnips now I'm trying to get some tomatoes and peppers this is what the current situation looks like. However I keep losing my bottom leaves I just pulled the mulch back and had extensive root development in the mulch but added a couple good hanfuls of manure compost and some jobes. So main question is did I mess up pulling mulch back because roots were less than a half inch under mulch. Mulch is 3 in deep in bed. Also my sweet 100s are only making sets with about 15 fruits I know they can put out ridiculous numbers but just wondering if mine are slacking. I have sooooo many more questions especially about my peppers but they'll have to wait til I get more info and off my phone and on a computer. This pic is almost a week old and the plants are about 8 inches taller do I need to trellis them since they outgrew the cages?
