It is an indeterminate variety so IME no, a 5' T post wouldn't be tall enough but you can always tie wrap an additional stake to it for more height if you wish. All depends on if you prune it or not. The more you prune, the taller it gets. It worked in my 6' cages as it just drapes back down over the outside of the cage with problem.

There are no "pest tolerant" varieties. :) As for diseases, like all other varieties, it has no real resistance to any of the most common tomato plant diseases. While some hybrids have been bred for increased tolerance of some diseases, actual resistance is minimal even in hybrids.

Rutgers doesn't list Bear Creek; nor does the Cultivar Finder which can't be linked to. Ventmarin has a listing for Bear Creek but doesn't give any info about it. And those are the only databases I know which (sometimes) list height.

OK, thanks! I know there's no such thing as disease or pest proof but it seems that every year we have one variety or another that is worse than the others for catching every disease known to man (well, not really but you know what I mean LOL!) So I will just have to wait and see. And have a couple of extra height-extenders handy just in case. Another adventure!!
