This sucker is really growing like crazy, and now looks more like a bush than anything my support method is pretty crude, and I will probably upgrade it to something stronger. should I trim this plant though? It has fruit developing all over. Actually pulled the first 3 ripe cherry tomatoes off of it yesterday. My 4 year old said they were delicious.

My experience with the Supersweet 100 in Texas is that it can grow into a giant plant and bear enormous amount to tomatoes and they are delicious. Why not invest in some real supports- a rebar stake or a remesh cage? That way, you'll have lots of tomatoes. In my opinion what you have there will not be adequate later on in a few weeks as support. (I just took a second look at your picture, a remesh cage might be better, sinking a rebar right next to your gas line might not be good).

That is a baby yet compared to what it will be by mid-summer. You chose a variety that is normally a giant plant and are using a support system and container that will have difficulty supporting it. By nature it isn't a container variety no matter how big the container. Pays to know the nature of the variety before hand. :) So while pruning it would normally NOT be recommended and trimming it will cost you fruit production and stress the plant, given the growing conditions you have for it you probably won't have a choice but to prune its top growth. Just don't do more than is absolutely necessary and don't try to do it all at one time. Dave
