| I have 1 plant, an Arkansas Traveler, that is growing, and it has baby tomatoes, but, unlike all my other plants, its stalk is very thick and broad, and its branches and leaves are stiff and rigid. It's new growth on top appears normal; it's not purple-ish, nor is it stiff and rigid. It doesn't have as much foliage as my other plants, and the branches, especially at the bottom, seem kind of frozen in place bending downward.
I can't capture the strangeness of this in a photo since it's a stiffness thing. It almost feels like a fake plant. I'm just letting it grow to see what happens and the only unusual thing I am doing it spraying it, as I am the others, for spider mites. Anyone else have this experience with a tomato plant? |

| We grow 15-20 AR Travelers every year, one of our favorites. What you describe isn't normal for the variety. At least the stiffness and rigidity isn't, double stalks that grow together and appear as one is a now-and-again thing. Can't say what is causing it with the info given. Can only guess it is related to the mites and spray. Dave |
