Tomato plants not growing

This is just a curious question from a new gardener. I have mountain pride tomatoes in the garden, 4 plants that aren't growing near as high as I expected. They have grown well, and are flowering. 2 of the 4 plants have even begin producing fruit. The tomatoes are new, green, and the size of a marble, but it's there. To compare, my neighbors plants (don't know the variety) are at least 50% taller, planted only 7-10 days before mine, and aren't producing any early fruit yet. I'm just wondering if I've missed something, left something out, or does my neighbor just have a much different variety of any than I do.
