| I transplanted these tomatoes from inside about two weeks ago. The are from organic non-gmo seed stock from Seeds of Change. The are planted in raised beds treated with linseed oil and are planted in a mix of organic garden soil and compost mixed into the top 3-4 inches of soil. I also used about a 2-3 tablespoon of Espoma Tomato-tone 3-4-6 in the bottom of each transplant location (hole). I noticed last week that some of the plants are getting brown spots on the middle section of leaves. I have pictures here http://sca.twitchhosting.com/?sub=Tomato Brown Spots . Please help! |

| Several of your individual leaf pics, under magnification, show clear but still early signs of Septoria. Treatment is removing the affected leaves and dispose of them out of the garden an institute a regular weekly fungicide spraying program. Daconil is the fungicide of choice but if you prefer only an organic approach then look into Serenade or one of the various copper based fungicides. However, note that they do not have the same level of effectiveness. Also heavily mulching the plants to avoid further contamination from soil splash will help. Dave |
