If you search YouTube for "pruning tomatoes" you'll see how some people do it, but is more a personal decision than a "should."

For a tomato in that size container I would just let it grow.

Or you can nip some shoots, up to you :-)

Your plant looks quite nice and healthy.
Right not, the first thing to do is decide on some kind of support system : CAGE, STAKE ?

Trimming and pruning is not needed at this stage. Then It will also depends on the growth habit of the plant you are growing. Then it also depend on how much your support system can handle. Container planting has its limitations.

Your plant doesn't look healthy - just about every leaf shows marginal chlorosis.

Where are you located? I see a little browing on the edges of the leaves, but otherwise it looks ok. How big is the container? And I agree, the cage looks a little weak. Trimming/pruning is up to you. I don't, but some do. BTW it looks a bit leggy, is it getting enough sun?

Hey everyone thanks for your input. I am in Massachusetts and the container is a 1foot by 1 foot container. I know we have had a few days of 80 degrees dropping to 50 at night but it does get sun most of the day. Should I maybe try a bigger container? Thank you again.
