Woody Tomato Stem

I have always had great luck with tomatoes in my garden. I am doing the same things I have always done and for some reason this year it seems everything is going wrong with my plants. My major concern is the bottom stems of 3 out 5 of my plants are starting to look like what is shown in the picture.
My leaves are curling up like tacos which I know mean they are stressed but I think its because we have had a lot of rain and not a lot of hot days like I know the plants like. But even though we have had MAJOR rain this summer in CT I don't know if that is what is causing this problem- the brown spots don't feel dry and hallow nor are they squishy.

I mulch with my cut grass and I have only fertilized once early in the season as usual.

Any insight would be helpful.

I don't know what the problem is but, besides the problems, do they seem to be on track otherwise? Definitely not going to win any beauty contest, but that doesn't mean much if you are getting good tomatoes. Last year I had a bunch of warts on a plant, but it seemed to grow normally. The leaves are an unusual green color, but that's just me.

the bumps on the stem =root initials. Often on stressed plants and/or high humidity.

Any chance you used a weed killer on the lawn/grass, or a weed-n-feed?

I did use a weed-n-feed in the yard near the garden but the grass I have been using for mulching comes from the front yard that wasn't treated at all. Could the weed-n-feed have leeched into the soil and caused this problem??

I've read that low potassium can cause woody stems.
