Today I found the first ripe Yellow Pear and two Red Robins. The RRs are pleated and very pretty little tomatoes. Yesterday was the first ripe Patio tomato, and I sure got the tang I hoped for-too much so. Hopefully the rest of them will mellow a bit?

Glad that you got some ripe tomatoes and are enjoying them. I have grown Red Robin a few times and I don't think it's supposed to be pleated! Mine have always been smooth and round cherry tomatoes. Were your RR's really small plants that would fit into a ten inch container? Linda

The first RR's I picked which I posted about a few days ago weren't pleated. They were perfectly round. Nice thin skins and a good little beefsteak-y flavor. But the two I just picked are pleated and look like teeny Constoluto's. The only plants I have are one Patio tomato, one Yellow Pear and the RR's. I guess it's possible that one of the RR plants is something else, they are all from seeds. I haven't tasted the pleated ones. I'm waiting for them to get redder on the counter.

Oops, forgot your question. Yes, the RR's are small and can fit into even a six inch pot.

How interesting that they changed from smooth round to pleated. Thanks for explaining. I hope they taste good! Linda
