Nothing to do but wait.

Usually they dry and scab over within a couple of days. If not, try pulling back the mulch a bit and mound some soil up, around, and over the injury. Lesson learned. :)

that will heal up fine. you can seal it if you want to eliminate any drying around that area. not necessary....really
