Overwhelmed, is there hope?

I am just so overwhelmed. I have grown tomatoes for over 4 years and never had a problem or disease. This year, I joined a community garden. It is organic and they are very picky on what we can use for fungicide because the land is owned by the city and won't allow manure etc. I grew my tomatoes from seeds and they looked fantastic. Someone contracted either septoria or bacterial spot or both and now all the tomatoes and some peppers and potatoes in the entire community garden have it. I have removed all leaves and will be spraying potassium bicarbonate in the evening, the only acceptable allowable fungicide. No one else is doing anything to stop it. One person bought their tomatoes in from a box store. Many water the tomato leaves not just the soil. My question is will pb even help? Or am I just fighting a losing battle? If I focus on worm tea, natural fertilizer and spraying potassium can I still make it? I am hoping there is a way. I know the wind can blow fungus so I just worried that all my work and determination won't be enough. I need these tomatoes for food and invested a lot of time and care into them. Thanks all for listening and any advice!

I don't have any advice to offer, but I'm sort of going through the same thing. This is my first year in a community garden and the first time gardening seriously. I was very careful in growing my own seeds and making sure my plants had enough room to breathe/good airflow. So far no problems on my end, but both of my garden neighbors have septoria and now I'm terrified that my plants will get it as well. One is heavily involved in her garden (stops by regularly) but the other has been mostly absent since she planted so I don't expect her to do much. It hasn't taken over the whole garden yet, so I'm hoping preemptively spraying will help me. Maybe give it a try and go down fighting?

I would spray with whatever you can and remove any affected leaves (which helps a lot). It's generally recommended to use the fungicide as a preventative. The best you can do now is control the disease.

We're moving into the middle of the season now and even if you have some problems you should still get a decent crop. The plants might look unsightly, but the fruit should still be good. Some people feel that disease is just part of the growing process and don't treat with anything, but are consoled with some nice tomatoes regardless.

springbound I feel your pain! The community garden experience is quite different from doing it at home. I am hoping you do not get it. I would definitely spray with whatever your community garden allows so you don't end up like me. I think it is a good sign that none of them have it yet.
monet_g you made me feel better! I will do what I can. With the exception of a big rainstorm in the beginning of summer, it hasn't been a rainy season so I've got that going for me. All my plants are flowering and there are baby tomatoes. So I will just keep it up. Thanks again!
