| I'm stumped. My plants have something wrong. At first it looked like the picture of Magnesium definciency. The leafs have yellow spec on them and it is progressing up the plants . Its on the top leaves now. The strange thing was i looked on a what looks like a morning glory vine that was growing up the cage and it has it to and the clover on the grown looks like it has it... It also looks tlike the picture of alfala mosiac.. I'm stumped. What could afect tomatoes and vines growing up the plant aND THE CLOVER ON THE GROWN... bUMMED OU IN MO.. wish i could post pictures but i'm computer stupid. |

| Photos really would help. To post photos on the Tomatoes forum, the photos need to be on the web. I'm going to suggest you use Photobucket (the basic account is free) because the simplest GW instructions I've seen are for Photobucket. So sign up for a free Photobucket account: Next, upload your photos from your computer to your new Photobucket account. This tells you how: Here's an easy set of directions (with a photo of an actual Photobucket screen) for posting photos from Photobucket to GW: === An alternative is to post photos directly from your computer on the Tomato Pests & Diseases forum (one of the few GW forums where that can be done). Click on the small black box labelled "Image Uploading" (on the left a couple of inches below the forum name), then follow those (very old) instructions. When you're finished posting in the other forum, post in this thread to tell us where to go to see the photos. Good luck! |

The first picture was the vine growing up the cage and the rest were pictures of leaves one from the middle of the plant and the other from the top of the plant... Any help will be appreciated. |

| I was hoping someone who knows more would say something, but no one has. For whatever my non-expert opinion is worth, I think you have a thrips infestation (as opposed to aphids or whiteflies). See this article (the article is rather confusing because most of it is about using a predatory mite to control the thrips). Another article about thrips: Thrips are known for spreading the Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus, which you can find more info about here (I don't think you've mentioned seeing any symptoms of the virus, but I may not be remembering correctly): |

| Looks like powdery mildew to me. That can affect many different plants. It thrives in humid weather and is made worse if you get the leaves wet when watering. |

| i think it was thrips.. i went out and got some malathion and sprayed them today. i guess i do it again inabout a week. i had to take my son out with young eyes to see them and there tiny crap left on the leaves. i hope this stuff works. i really appreciate you guys help. bruce |

| I'd guess thrips too but I hate to use malathion on plants I'm eating from, spinosad is another alternative that most feed stores stock. Tom |
