They vary in shape and don't really take on their complete dimensions until they are almost ready to ripen.

Actually my dog likes them too. I don't particularly care for them and probably won't grow them again. The taste is just way too mild for me. They do grow big and tall though...I will give them that. Mine are approaching 7 ft tall at this point.

Thanks Mike. I hope you are right! Here are some pics. The fruit are smaller than they look. Foliage is correct, potato-leafed.

Fido will love them as she's not picky at all. I started a routine by throwing her a split 'mato one day, and ever after I was accompanied to the veggie garden and given expectant looks. She catches them in mid air.

You are right! I've been growing these for years and they always come true. I wonder what they are? Cherry sized, yellow and pear shaped..... I don't think mine are spitters, although they aren't the best tasting.
