I bought a leftover tomato plant for $1 at a neighborhood plant sale. Brought it home and stuck it in a pot and it has been doing well. The tag said it is a Brandywine but now that it has tomatoes on it, they don't look like Brandywines to me. Here's the first tomato. It's about 2.5 inches high.:

And in case you don't believe me, here is the tag! It is easy for these to get switched around at plant sales.
|
Looks like a roma-type, paste tomato and a potato leaf variety. That's about all anyone can do about an ID. That would narrow it down to about 100 choices of the over 500 paste tomato varieties Note all the other "can you ID this tomato" posts here, all with the same answer - it is impossible to do. There are simply too many possible varieties that it could be. It would almost be easier to list the hundreds of varieties that it is not. Sorry. Just eat and enjoy. Dave

Yes, I will enjoy it for sure. It helps to know that it looks like a Roma to you, too. That's what I was thinking although I thought they grew in bunches. Thanks for your response. Perhaps switching tags was someone's idea of a joke! I'm still happy with it.

I would have said same thing Dave pointed out: It has potato leaves but the fruit resemble to roma. Could be a cross.
