first time sweet 100 grower

This is my first time growing tomatoes - currently growing Sweet 100 and Sungold varieties. I live in an apartment, so each plant is growing from a large container. I originally bought the pre-made wire support cage from Lowe's to support the plants, but the Sweet-100 is now two feet taller than the cage and some of the branches are starting to collapse. I thought about pruning some of it back, but most of the tomatoes and flowers are on the top branches and I don't want to lose all that! Any suggestions for branch/weight support? I've been using an elaborate system of twist ties and counter-tension to keep things supported, but this is obviously not a permanent solution.

Some people stack two cages, one on top of the other for more height. I wouldn't want to cut it either. Maybe just let it fold over the cage.....

Yeah just let it drape back down the outside of the cage as most of us do. It works fine. But next time, for both those varieties you'll do better with much better tomato cages. The 3-4 ring things are only good for small determinate plants.

I buy a skein (or whatever it's called) of avocado color yarn and tie my plants higher up as they grow, using cedar stakes that are super tall. Maybe 7 feet. The skein lasts forever. I like the yarn because it matches the color of the leaves. Any guys reading this are probably rolling their eyes. LOL.

I grew several of them last year but this year I decide not to be bothered with S100. The fruits were mostly too small for me and the plants were like out of Dr. Frankstein's lab. I am growing a bigger red cherry and Sun Gold. So far, SG fruits are quite larger than cherry.

Then of course, I realize that we have different taste and preferences. So go for it!
