Mealy tomatoes

Hi,
I have grown tomatoes for a few years with success, although they don't really take off until Sept. as I live in the Pacific NW.

However the few that have ripened or near ripened on the vine are MEALY inside. This includes the large and the cherry types.

I have done everything the same way each year; epsom salts, compost, fish emulsion, consistant watering.

Can anyone please tell me the cause of this?

Thank,
Laurie

RE: Mealy tomatoes

Often due to being on the plant too long, and/or brought indoors then sat too long before they were eaten. Oh, and high temperatures may contribute to the problem.

Then, too, some kinds are more susceptible to mealiness than others.
