SW MI Tomato Check in

Hi, just want to compare notes with others in my zone to see how their tomato plants are doing.
I am growing Brandywine, San Marzeno, Rutgers, Mortgage lifter, Sun Sugar and Beef Steak.

So far all of my plants are loaded but I have been fighting septoria leaf spot. I was diligent this year with the heavy mulch, keeping the plants trimmed at the bottom and have used the Florida Weave to keep the plants upright.

The Beefsteak and the Sun Sugar seem to be most effected.

We have had lots of rain this year and am thinking this is not helping my fight. I just started spraying with Daconil but I am afraid its a little late. I have been removing all of the affected leaves and discarding. It just seems to be progressing. Hoping that I can at least get the fruit that is on the vines to a ripened state.

How is everyone else doing this year?

Hi Daina,
I'm in SE Michigan, zone 6B. I planted Black Krim, Cherokee Purple, Brandy Boy and Sun Sugar. I lost the BK and CP to some type of wilt disease. I pulled them a couple of weeks ago in order to save the other two. They had started producing though they were kinda mealy.

I'm getting wonderful fruit of the SS, but not as many as in prior years. I picked a couple of blushers off the BB and found what I think was BER. But, there are some really nice, large tomatoes coming that, hopefully, won't have it.

Both plants have a bit of Septoria. I don't plan on spraying, just removing leaves. Weather has been coolish and wet here. Just a bad year all around for tomato growing.
