Cracking or Splitting of fruit

This is the first time I have ever really had a plant(s) that has produced lots of tomatoes I noticed my Beefsteak seems to split the fruit open if I let them get really red. What am I doing wrong?
People tell me Tomatoes are the easiest thing to grow but for some reason I have a hard time with them, only tomatoes though.

RE: Cracking or Splitting of fruit

If they are mostly colored up and then a crack appears that is called "bursting". Cracks can occur anytime during fruit growth.

Cracking (and bursting) most often occur on thinner skinned varieties and whenever growth is suddenly encouraged (after heavy rains or watering, changes in temperature, or sudden uptake of fertilizer).

Mulching to ensure even ground moisture and slow release of fertilizer can help reduce some cracking. Cultivars which have thicker skins are also less prone to cracking. Many lines with higher sugar (Sun Gold, Black Cherry, Cherokee Purple, Brandywine) have a tendency to burst. Cherokee Purple and Brandywine also have a tendency to crack.

I hate cracking, so I have pursued varieties with thick skins or that claim to be blemish free. Some I am growing that fit this-

Principe Borghese
Juliet
Heidi
San Marzano
Jetsetter
Nepal
Tegucigalpa
Bloody Butcher
Legend
Siberian Pink
Italian Light Globe
Sochulak
