Question about Lillian's Yellow tomato

Hi tomato lovers!

Does anyone else notice extra tough skins with their Lillian's Yellow tomatoes? It's my first year growing them and I ate my first ones yesterday and was kind of bummed at just how tough the skins were. Though the flesh was delicious, I'll probably turn these into sauce since the skin interfered with my enjoyment of my 'mater sammich.

Just wondering about your experiences so I can decide if I want to try this one again next year! Thanks!

RE: Question about Lillian's Yellow tomato

I've grown Lillian's Yellow Heirloom many times and have never had a problem with tough skins. Actually I've had to grow it many times for seed production since it has so few seeds,

Perhaps it could be the weather this season for this variety? Not all varieties respond to weather in the same way.

It's one of the few varieties that stay yellow at maturity instead of turning what I call gold, and I too love the somewhat creamy great tasting flesh it has.
