Will powdery mildew spread to the fruit?

I've been trying to buy enough time for the fruit on the plant to finish growing and/or ripening, I've been picking off new flowers, cutting out the worst of the leaves and trying out various home remedies (none of which have worked too well).

Anyway, I thought it was a leaf-only disease until this morning when I noticed it was starting to grow on one of the stems now, too. So I am wondering if the fruit stands any chance, will it infect the fruit as well? Am I wasting my time?

I've never seen powdery mildew infect any fruit, only the leaves and stems of infected plants. My pumpkin vnes now are almost completely dead due to an appalling powdery mildew infestation, yet the pumpkin fruits themselves look perfectly healthy.

I have never seen any PM affect tomato plants. But with squash, cucumbers, only the leaves get affected.

Maybe (!) what you have is some kind of mold (like grey mold) that also affects fruits..

Aye. But I'm almost certain it's Powdery Mildew...so it is good to know that the fruit is most likely safe :) Thanks. Now I can go back to focusing on keeping the rest of the plant green.
