I have several plants with varying problems, so I'll post each problem as a separate conversation. Here is the third and last: I have started a Phoenix variety plant from a cut sucker. It was going great, and then the leaves suddenly started to go limp and get full of very tiny holes. This has happened over just the last couple days. I have seen some very small flies with black and dark green bodies around the plants. They are similar in size and shape of whiteflies, but they are black. I haven't seen anything actually on the plant. Just a few flies around it. Picture below. Any thoughts?
Follow-Up Postings:

Leaf toward the center looks like damage from very bright light/sun. Leaf on the right looks like flea beetle damage. Perhaps it went limp because it needs to be shaded until it can root in?

I went to remove the damaged leaves and a tiny cabbage looper fell into my hand. Mystery solved! Good suggestion on moving it into the shade. I didn't know that was a sun burn spot. I had to remove most of the leaves. I hope it recovers. Thanks!
