This is the only hybrid I planted this year, Burpee's new "Supersauce". It got a lot larger than I was expecting, but not as large as advertized. Very few seeds, great for paste. The one I tasted was a bit mealy. Still, huge for a paste tomato. 3 tomatoes completely filled up my Ninja blender. The slugs got to more than half of them so far, but that may be because they are in a hard to reach place, and I let them get over ripe. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Probably not, I recently learned about some extra large heirloom pastes that I will try. The slugs get to these too fast, and saving the hybrid seeds to trade wouldn't do me any good. :) |

| Holy cow! With the size of those tomatoes compared to your hand, how big was that seed envelope?! I'm with you, I grow mostly heirloom and open pollinated tomatoes (maybe 5% hybrids) so I can save seeds and don't have to pay Burpee and other retailers prices over and over again. Betsy |
