I noticed during the past week or so many of my plants are exhibiting what I originally thought was blackish veins and leaves, but upon further inspection it's definitely purplish in nature. The affected leaves are the entire plant except for the very newest growth. Also stranger (at least to me), notice from the photo only one half of the veins on this leaf are affected, and there are other examples of this. I've been using Foliage Pro 9-3-6 as a weekly maintenance dose. Phosphorous def? Veins only affecting 1/2 leaves?

1. Yes, they are in pots range from 6 to 14 Gal 2. Fertilizer-- I used only Foliage Pro weekly but there is some osmocote in the soil. Few weeks ago used Fish Emulsion The pic is from a sweet million cherry. It has done great until now. It appears the problem spreads first from the bottom.

This image is from the adjacent plant, watermelon beefsteak. It's more affected by this than the cherry. It looks like the leaf I pulled off earlier is more of an exception than the rule, in that the veins on the leaves are fully affected. I'm hoping it isn't the disorder that is uncurable.....

Those plants look pretty good. What kind of soil is in the pots? A weekly maintainance dose of liquid fertilizer is nowhere near enough for a container that drains well. I grow in containers and they get at least 'some' fertilizer every time I water.

I have organic potting soil/mix, and compost. They have been doing fine for the last month or so, then the vein/leaf issue starting popping up. I noticed a few leaves also with some holes and withering at the very base with the purplish blotches on the non-vein side.

Most of us on the container forum would not recommend compost in containers. But anyway, that ship has sailed this year. I would still give them a good dose of fertilizer, the leaves look a bit pale.
