Brown on Bottom

I've got 17 tomato plants and 3 or 4 have tomatoes that look good on top but are brown and soft on the bottom. I'm on the central coast of Ca. I'm also in a fierce battle with gophers. I'm trying to stay organic and have been trying to trap them but am willing to consider just about anything. As always all ideas appreciated. Thanks

Blossom end rot (BER)

Look at the top of the Tomato Forum page for FAQ. BER is the 2nd item in the FAQ.
