| After a disappointing year with Eva Purple Ball, Rutgers and a Roma of some type I need some suggestions for next year. These plants were extremely non productive, therefore I'm looking for what to grow for next year and best place to buy seeds/avoid? I do want to try Black Cherry...although I generally don't like extremely small or very large varieties. I want to focus on salsa/suce production...although I do love eating fresh OTV. Thanks, Jerry |

| Gerry, What is your soil like? Too much nitrogen? (lots of green leaves and not many tomies) Not enough nutrients? (skimpy plants) Is there enough sunshine? I believe they need at least 6 hours a day. Is there a walnut tree in the vicinity? Of course you can try different varieties although the varieties that you grew are good ones. Eva did well for me this year. Roma is a determinate, but it has always given me a good crop of tomatoes before it dies. Rutgers has a stella reputation. Linda |

| Here in IL from all accounts people did really well with yields of tomatoes. Most people I know say " best year for production" so I am not sure about changing varieties... might have been something else going on for you- what was your particular problem- not growing well, not setting fruits, getting disease? |

| Jerry, to get real advice, It would be helpful if you described your growing conditions : --- In ground, or container (If latter, container size, what kind of soil)
