Dehydrating canned tomatoes

Ok as an opening question I have a doozie. I have many cans of tomatoes. Many are out of date but look fine. No rust, no dents. I want to dehydrate them by blending the than using my dehydrator, then powder them to save them for emergencies. Yeah I know many people are going to freak out but some are over three years out of date! If the look good is this safe to do or should I pitch the 50 cans I've got?

I think you will be fine, canned tomatoes over time can start to effect the coating on the inside of the can and even when canned in jars can develop a slight tinny taste. But either was should be safe. When making tomato powder it takes a lot of tomatoes, though the powder is very concentrated. Just a couple of tablespoons of powder makes a very concentrated tomato paste.
