I grew four different tomatoes this year, in a small greenhouse in 10 gallon pots. Sungold, Sweet Million, Shirley and Gardeners Delight. It was a warm summer here in England, and there were at least 150 fruits on each plant. I was so excited as the last couple of summers were washouts for toms. The Sungold were amazing, absolutely delicious and perfect balance between sweet and acid. The others were....blah. I didn't do anything different to the others and I have grown Gardeners delight before and they have been superb. I just don't know where I went wrong. Perhaps I watered them a bit too much when it was very warm? Or did I not feed them enough? What do you think?

I doubt anyone can provide a specific response. Outdoors, some things in the environment aren't under a gardener's control.

Could it have been as simple as the Sungold being utterly amazing and the other cherries paling in comparison? The Sungold plant that I bought wasn't, so I was happy with my Sweet Million, Super Sweet 100 and the non-Sungold that turned out to be red. Unfortunately, I couldn't do a direct comparison out in the garden, although I did taste some Sungolds that a friend grew and thought they were very good. Linda
