Tomatoes for greenhouses

| What are good varieties of tomatoes for greenhouses in Texas? Ideally, they should manage to survive humidity levels above 70% and temperatures over 90 degrees F. Heatwave does very well, as does Terrific (just wish I'd planted it in March or April, not May). Any other sturdy types? Thank you. |

| I think most tomatoes will do fine with temporary temps over 90 and humidity around 70%. If the temp is going to stay over 90 for several hours a day, then I think most tomatoes are going to suffer different degrees of blossom drop. You can probably get great production from Roma and a variety of similar paste tomatoes. Any of the many "Florida" tomatoes that have been bred for high temps and humidity should do fine. I think Solar Set gets good reviews along with Florida 91, and sometimes Homestead (though it also gets bad reviews). Arkansas Traveler is often recommended for you conditions along with Bradley, I believe. Certainly, I'm just scratching the surface and you could grow just about any cherry tomato you want. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to try any tomato I wanted, and I certainly put in a wide variety, space permitting. There's been plenty of discussion here about heat and humidity, so maybe checking out the threads that pop up in a search will give you some better ideas and information.
