Growing Tomatoes

Deep Cracks

I live in North Western Pennsylvania, right on the Shore of Lake Erie...I still have Green Tomatoes growning yet. They are starting to Ripen now, but they are getting Deep Cracks in them, some cracks go into the Red Meat of the Tomato, does anyone know the CAUSE and are they ok to Eat ? Rex Ryan
