| We have talked a lot about "NEVER GROW THEM AGAIN ". But somebody else might do. So lets talk about what we DO want to grow them AGAIN, and please say "WHY?", if you will. I will grow it because : Rather than going to a new post, I will keep updating right here on the top until I have exhausted my list: |

| I would grow Golden Jubilee tomatoes again and Sun golds. They produce like crazy and are sweet to eat. |
|
| My list includes Juliet, Sungold, Greune Helarios, and Garden Peach. |
|
| Mortgage Lifter Estler's, naturally. Y'all know the story, no need to repeat. Cherokee Purple, KBX, Big Rainbow and Big Zebra. These all have wonderful flavor and good production. German Red Strawberry (a red heart) and Yellow Oxheart - these are my workhorses, real do-it-alls. I really depend on these for freezing for winter, as that is when we do the majority of soups and pastas, although these are also great for sandwiches, being not quite as goopy as the other tomatoes. So that's my "required" growing list; I do try other varieties every year, never know when a new "must have" will come along! Already dreaming of next summer's good eating... Edie |

| I will be growing yellow pear again next year. A lot of people speak badly of it saying it is bland. My wife likes them right off the vine. I like to half them, put them under the broiler for a couple of minutes with a light coat of olive oil, and a pinch of salt. It does a lot to bring out flavor for this one. Also when all the other plants were giving off maybe a couple of fruits when the heat wave started here. The yellow pear kept on keeping on. I was getting a quart sized freezer bag full every few days. The plant did stop producing in early Sept. when highs were 103 plus, with night lows over 80. As soon as the heat wave broke the plant started producing again. Say what you want about flavor. This one produced after the others quit. Other than that Mr Stripey will be planted again. Not super prolific. The taste made up for it. Next year I will start with larger plants. In this area a larger plant to start will produce more as the smaller plant is just starting to produce when the heat will shut it down. |

| Purple Dog Creek - tastes good and was productive for me. |

| oohhh, I have about hundred varieties of tomatoes I will happily grow again and I am not done yet LOL now that Tania posted her seeds for this year and my order coming I would really like to grow my favorite oldies but am thinking only new tomatoes for next year again too... |
|
| Yeah, Sure. I was talking about deciding based on personal experience. This past season I planted about a dozen varieties, mostly for the first time. I am dropping about 5 of them and instead I will try 5 new varieties; THREE MORE that I will grow them again: -1- Cherokee Purple: Mostly for special taste, texture and color. --3-- Japanese Brown Trifele : Also not a traditional red/pink, this is a tasty tomato. I would not call it "BLACK". b/c It is a perfect "BROWN" tomato with a near perfect balanced sweetness and acidity. I will Name a few in another post. |

| yeah, based on personal experience, this season I've grown about 80 new varieties, and generally grow 40-60 varieties. I have boatload of varieties that I liked and did well for me... problem there are so many new ones to try LOL plus every year is different. This year soil test showed deficiency in Manganese, Sodium and Boron so same varieties from this year might go up another brix or two once it is fixed.... |
