Tomato plants in Alabama

I just have a quick question for Alabama growers.

I have a computer guru friend that was down in Anniston/Oxford, Alabama on business a week or so ago and he was telling me that a grocery store (Winn-Dixie I think) had tomato and pepper plants for sale.

Do you grow these outdoors this time of year or is it an indoor thing? Just wondering?

Not an Alabama grower, sorry, apparently none around.

But yes I suppose it would be possible in far southern Alabama to still grow outside. Should still be warm enough. I still have some plants going here outside but not for much longer.

We're on the same latitude as Anniston/Oxford here in Atlanta, and I can tell you that no, it's too late to grow tomato/peppers here this time of year. It would definitly be an indoor thing at this point.

If you cannot find a local source, Garden Harvest Supply is where we purchase our tomato and pepper plants.
