If you could grow one tomato the rest of your gardening life what tomato would you grow. I want to pick up a couple more tomato varieties and would love to have the opinion of the gardening community!

I would find an isolated plot that has all the normal tomato diseases Fusarium 1 2 3, Verticillium, all the blights etc etc and grow 10 ea of all those I like the best - then take fruit from all of those that came out OK and grow again - replenishing the diseases - then the best of the last tomato standing that tastes great would be my choice oh yeah I should probably add plots doing the same where I think I will be moving in a few years to adjust for temps there and do the same in a greenhouse - sounds like a big project - hope boxcar willie, some of the cherrokee's, mule team, and half of those in Carolyn137's book make it - then I would have a difficult time choosing - wouldn't I ? of course my wife will probably not like my choice so she would have to grow her own - oh never mind I will probably be dead by then - can we get that 18 year old growing maters for his mom to do this and send the results with the next person going to heaven??

Okay, but if you were to recommend one of yours for someone who lives near Death Valley to grow, which would it be? I guess the question is which 'Keith tomato' is a combination of productive, early, and heat tolerant. Brandywine does not do well here, but I'm experimenting heavily next year. Liz Birt was started yesterday and will spend her youth in a greenhouse.

Trudi do you know of a seed source for Dombito?

Totally Tomatoes used to offer it on their sale page but it's not listed anymore. I suppose you could call and ask them if they'll be relisting it in the future.

I thought this was one of the very best tomatoes I've ever grown. Round, red, glorious.

I would choose either Guker's Special or Paul Robeson, which are a pink and black beefsteaks respectively.
