Thanks for the heads up!

Do you have the promo code? I didn't see anything on their web site.

The code they gave me is thx4, be sure to use lower case. It didn't work for me with uppercase letters.

I get e-mails from them so I'm not sure that the code will work more than once?

That's great Daren! I wasn't sure that everyone could use the same code!

I got my seeds yesterday, they are all labeled "packed for 2015" so they aren't old seed.

I got 2 packs of Super Sauce Hybrid by my dumb mistake. I didn't notice that it was already in my cart, a $6.95 mistake!

Hey Wertach,

Good for you! I placed 2 separate orders and neither one has been shipped, yet. Figures. :)

umm, my understanding is that the packing date on a seed envelop is just that - when it was packaged, and has nothing to do with how old the seeds really are.

Since I'm an optimist, I do hope the seeds that Burpee sends to us are relatively fresh, like less than 10 years old.

By the way, since this post was about free shipping, did you notice that High Mowing Seeds have free shipping?

As far as I know , tomato seeds stay viable for many years, maybe over a decade, if kept in proper environment (temperatures and humidity). If a hybrid is a new introduction , the seeds cannot be very old anyway.

Yes, Seysonn, they do last a long time.

After may Dad died. I cleaned out the freezer and found tomato seeds and other seed that my Mom had stored years earlier. I could tell by the hand writing on the bags that she was the one that stored them.

I planted all of them and they all had excellent germination! She died 13 years before my Dad. I would say that the seeds had to be at least 16 years old!
