Still Picking and setting

Here it is the middle of November, metro DC/Maryland and I’m till picking and setting tomatoes. I have them in containers on one of my decks. They are looking pretty sad but still I counted 6 new baby toms yesterday. The few really chilly night we had were blunted by their location. My Tabasco and other varieties of peppers are still looking great. However, all is slower to ripen and not as large as late summer. But still, its growing and producing. On the herb side of things, I chopped all of my parsley and basil to put it in the dehydrator only to encourage new growth of each. Let’s see how long we can milk this thing out.

RE: Still Picking and setting

I still have a Goliath producing and a couple of SunSugars. The flavor isn't at all what it was in the summer, but at least I've been able to protect these few from the frost for a few more weeks. Also I still have green peppers coming on, but they have not bloomed in several days now. What I need now is a good dose of indian summer, but it's too late for that.
