| Hello gardenweb, I have been searching for a paste tomato for hot climates. I haven't had luck with romas. This season I am going to test out Amish paste, Chico III, and san marazano. I use chicken manure with wood ashes and a teaspoon of Epsom salt when planting along with my compost. Then I alternate liquid seaweed and John droomgles liquid fertilizer throughout the growing season. usually in two to three week intervals. if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear it. or if any one knows of any varieties that will be candidates for sauces or canning. | Another vote for Heidi. Outstanding performance for me last two years. eel |

| Opalka was the best producer out of all my tomatoes in 2013; I just wasn't blown away by the flavor. Wasn't bad, just wasn't outstanding. This year I'm gonna try San Marzano Redorta--it's supposed to be a lot bigger than the regular one. I don't know how it'll do in our SC heat, though. |
Here is a link that might be useful: San Marzano Redorta
