Considering Pantano Romanesco (PR) for 2015... I have many competing tomato seeds wanting to be planted. Returns include: Cuostralee, Sungold, Opalka. Considering: Brandy Boy (almost for sure), Jersey Boy, German Red Strawberry, N.A.R., Arkansas Traveler, Red Barn, Marianna's Peace, Kellogg's Breakfast, Omar's Lebanese, and Rutgers. Possible returns: Cherokee Purple, 1884, Paul Robeson, Mortgage Lifter, and Beefsteak. I only have room for ~10-12 plants. Your experience with PR is appreciated! Thanks, Tom

You seem to like the beefsteak types, of which PR is just another one and not an especially smooth one either. Why not try Delicious? It is just as named, and has beautifully shaped, crack resistant fruits and no green shoulders either. This old variety was selected and reselected from beefsteak types to begin with. The fruits though not overly abundant, can get very large as well.

I'd also like more info than the catalogs and databases and seed company I agree with OldDutch as well. There is an Italian grower somewhere thinking "Delizioso" sounds a lot tastier than "The Roman Swamp Thing" LOL. Maybe Seysonn can comment here since he's gone through a lot of varieties around Seattle Willamette Determinate Tomato 70 DTM PC

Yes... great tasting beefsteaks, through trial of ~24 varieties of tomatoes ( a very small number I know), is what I've gravitated to based primarily on taste, production, and utility. Considering the lack of response here, I will probably forgo PR and place Azoychka Russian on the "consider to grow" list. Thanks & regards,

I don't know anything about PR, but I have seeds ordered for Azoychka and Willamette (both mentioned above) . Seysonn
