Mosquito netting over tomatoes to prevent hornworms

I am going to be growing tomatoes this summer and will be gone for weeks at a time. I have rigged up an automatic watering system but have not yet figured out a way to prevent hornworms. I will not be home on a daily or perhaps even weekly basis to pick off any hornworms before they do major damage. Has anyone ever tried using mosquito netting or think this is an effective way to prevent the hornworms? I live in Texas so I'm not concerned about diminished sunlight at all.

Should work as it's basically the same principle as row covers and they work. But it's lighter weight than even the insect barrier row covers so you won't have to worry about heat build-up under it. Only possible problem I can foresee is making it flexible enough to grow with the height of the plants.

Good luck and let us know how it works!

Dave
