Knots on stems

Last year I grew a couple of Tomatoe plants in a deep raised bed with new soil bought bulk. One of my plants (can't remember which one, sorry) had knots in the thicker stems (not in roots). They grew and produced just fine. I want to make sure this wasn't a disease or virus as I would like to replant in this bed again. I tried looking up diseases and their pictures but don't see this.
Thank you.

Possibly root initials on the stem.

If so, not a problem.
