Is there a way to prevent powder mildew?

Hi all,

The last two years I've had a real tough time with powder mildew on my pumpkins and my tomatoes. Nothing seems to cure it. Now that the season is not too far away, I wonder is there a way to prevent it? I'm only doing one pumpkin plant this year but I plan about a dozen tomato plants. It seems to be the only problem I run into.

Thanks for any ideas.

What have you tried so far? Milk, neem oil? Just curious.

Daconil aka Ortho Garden Disease Control as a preventative spray every 7-10 days would be what I would suggest, for both the tomatoes and the pumpkins. Be sure and cover all surfaces of the plants that you are spraying. Minimizing overhead watering can also be helpful -- try and keep plants as dry as possible.
