Tomato plants gone after transporting to backyard.

I was growing some tomato seeds in one of those rectangular pots in my backyard. They were sitting on cement next to the garden. I transported some Sunday morning and went today to check on them. All the larger ones were gone and I couldn't even find them by digging around.

I thought it was bad luck, possibly drying up in the sun or not planting properly. I replanted some larger ones this morning around 8am. The plants are a couple months old and were 5 inches tall. I come back at 1pm to find that the large one is missing. Bending down I see that it was either chewed or broken at the stem near the soil level.

What can be doing this? While in the pots nothing happened to them besides slight yellowing which I assumed happened due to the small pot space.

Bugs I have seen in my backyard:
- Ants
- Worms
- Another bug which I can't identify. Will attach a picture
when I see it again.

Other plants/trees in backyard:
- pepper plant ( which was transplanted this morning with the tomato and it was not touched )
- mint
- peach tree
- sour cherry tree
- Raspberry bush
