top leaves curling

Can wind cause the top leaves to curl? My plants have been in the ground for about three weeks now and the top leaves on some of them are starting to curl down and inward. I know there's a disease called curly top virus but I don't think it's in CA. I'm hoping it's just wind stress.

RE: top leaves curling

Wind usually causes burn..but wind's not an issue around here, so I'm not certain about the curly top part. You might want to check for aphids...look very closely and see if you see small bugs at the joint where stem meets leaf and on the underside of leaves. They suck juices from leaves (they prefer new ones) and sometimes cause new growth to appear stunted, curly, or distorted.

Hope it's not a virus for you.
