Please Help With Strange Stem Growth

I got this plant from someone over a month ago. It was growing fine & then these "roots" started appearing on the stem of it. This picture is about 18" off ground. It is planted in a container & is still growing, but flowers die & more of this is spreading from the center stem to outer ones. PLEASE help -- what is it & how can I get rid of it?

THANKS!

Oh my gosh. They are rather prolific. Likely a tad humid where you are!

But not to worry. Just roots.

Jean001 -- THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE!
Yes, it is VERY humid here in Central Florida & rainy season/hurricane season just started, so more to come. So it's nothing to worry about? It seems to be affecting the growth of the tomatos. It gets the blossoms, but they soon die. So far, this has happened several times. Is there any way to stop the growth?

You wrote "It gets the blossoms, but they soon die."

Doubt the root initials are affecting the flowers. Problems for flowers include high temps.
