Will ladybugs get the aphids?

I have lots of aphids on my tomatoes now but the plants are still looking pretty happy and there are lots of ladybugs, so I was going to hope the ladybugs will clean up. On my fruit trees I usually don't spray aphids unless the leaves start to look all curled up, because the ladybugs eventually come along and clean up all the aphids. Does anyone have experience with letting ladybugs do their work on their tomatoes?
