I put Clothes over them today to void out sun to mush sun light. This is called a Drop cloth method to protect the growing babies. You my want to try this method, before your Cherokee Purple Die completely. Without pictures, it is very hard to tell why your plants are dying.

But, by looking at your pictures, it does not seem that your have a disease on your hands.

Your Tomatoes are on the ground, and if I was you, I would stake them. Also, If I was you, I would find a way to Shield you tomatoes from direct sun.

What, I did yesterday was putting bed sheets over my permanent Staking post.

Hi mrsjustice, I had a similar idea about putting some kind of shade over my tomato plants. It gets so hot here in Arkansas... 90 ~ 100 degrees almost every day for weeks. I'm thinking the Cherokee Purple may be less suited to heat then most other varieties of tomatoes, because they are the sickliest plants I have. I wonder if people up north in a cooler climate have better luck with these plants. But yes, your idea about a drop cloth is a good one. It's at least worth an experiment.
