small black bugs on the tomato leaves????

hi ... today we discovered small, read tiny here, black dots/bugs on our tomato plants ... they are (or we think it's them, as we have never, ever had bugs on our tomatoes in the eight years we have grown them) making the leaves curl ....

can someone help here ... we live in selah/yakima, wa and it's been hot, hot, hot for the past almost-three weeks (past 100 every day but today -- only -- *only* 95 today ... they are watered and taken care of -- i used *alaska fish food* once about a month ago ...

Without an image, I'd guess aphids.t
With an image, I would be able to be more positive with the ID.

i will definitely get on this tomorrow in the light ... LOL ... thanks so much for offering ... i read and i think it's either aphids or hopping flea bugs (???)
