Black rot on bottom of tomatoes

I'm struggling to grow good tomatoes. Plenty on the plant but most have the bottom portion rotting away and turning black. The plants seem to be shriveling up lately too. Any idea what it could be or tips? Thanks. I'll post pictures later today. Thanks

Cause: Uneven moisture supply in the pot/soil.
Treatment: Tighten up your watering practices.

    Worst with potted plants.

Thanks. I will have to be more careful with watering. I appreciate the advice.
