How long will BER last?

I know many of you may be tired of BER posts, but I need to know how long to expect this to last.

I have heard this is a common problem with container grown plants and I did everything I could to prevent BER. I read several threads on how to provide calcium and to not over-water.

One odd thing about my case of BER: only two of the five varieties I am growing have been affected: Lucky Cross and Brandy Boy. I used the same soil mixture and watering schedule for all my plants, yet none of the others have had a problem (ie. Cherokee Purple, Creole, Juliet).

I have been told this will clear up with time but how long should I expect to wait for healthy fruit?

BTW, both plants(LC and BB) are very healthy setting multiple fruits and over 4 feet tall.

RIK,

No one can tell you exactly when the BER problem will disappear. No one.

As plants mature they are better able to withstand the various stresses that can induce it, for it isn't a lack of Ca++ alone, as I'm sure you know by now.

And in all the posts I've done here about BER I've pointed out that not all varieties are equally susceptible to it, so it's really not odd that some of your varieties are are developoing it and some aren't.

I am getting BER CONSTANTLY from containers and plants in the ground..i know it is early and maybe in time it will clear, who knows..we are in a drough stage of emergency in my county and the corn crop in the area is nearly 50 percent destroyed, so i beleive if nothing else our drought and lack of rainwater has so much to do with BER.
