Tomato Stalk turning brown with yellow leaves.

Hello all, This is my first post on the site. I've been planting a small garden for the last 12 years. I'm the only person in my family that has an interest in garden so everything I've learned along the way has been through trial and error along with the wonderful help that I've found in books and on the web. So, I have 4 Burpee Big Boy Hybrid tomato plants that were grown from seeds. All four are producing large baseball size tomatoes but one of the plants has a stalk on it that is turning brown. It looks as if the green skin of the stalk is peeled off. There are also holes on one of the leaves as if eaten by an insect. Also, the leaves on the lower quarter of this plant are yellow. Any help on what could be causing the browning of the stem or other problems would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
