I'm Sad! Cherokee Purple problems...BER

I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with Cherokee Purple. This year is my first year growing Cherokee Purple in a SWC but seems like almost all fruit is affected with BER. I've been picking them off and discarding them as many have suggested for about 3 weeks now. It's sad to see a big plant with barely any fruit. I'm hoping that the problem will eventually correct itself. All my other plants are doing just fine, but I was so looking forward to tasting cherokee purple for the first time.. Oh well.. It's been a Lousy Tomato year for me here in the NE.

sigh
